Chemoxy employees enjoy French lessons

Posted on July 12, 2018 Chemoxy employees enjoy French lessons

Some of  Chemoxy’s employees recently finished a 10 week course of  French speaking lessons, as part of a “Time to Talk” initiative for the Better Health at Work campaign working towards Gold, a series of 10 French lessons were offered to all employees – at the company’s expense.  The course was initiated for the employees to gain a new skill and as a shareholder Novacap are a French company, it seemed an appropriate step!

Twelve people signed up for the classes commencing in May, held weekly for an hour, over 10 weeks. The course allowed them to gain a new skill or brush up on their current French speaking ability and was ran by French native tutor Emilie Naveaux.  Who started with basic French to cover the different levels in the class and covered introductions, learning job titles, conversational French.

Participants really enjoyed the lessons, they said it was fun with a lot of banter!  Feedback indicated that this was a worthwhile benefit to staff, some want to continue with lessons outside of work and others will use their French on holiday.  Learning new skills are good for the mind, and Chemoxy is proud to keep employees skills development high on its agenda and encourages continuous improvement of its workforce as set out in the Business Annual Operating Plan.
